Lesvos Cycling Tour: Cycling

Hi guys first of all my English isn't good so sorry.
My name is Stelios! I decide a day to do the tour of Lesvos island.
I choose Lesvos because i can do a Tour and no pass from the same rout again, also as island have many different landscapes and nature to see. From the big areas with olives trees, to the deserts places and to big forests with a plenty of waters!
I made this blog to share my moments on this island and help others.
It was great experience.

I did this trip in the middle of the summer 15 July - 28 July, the temperatures was around 40C , but this isnt problem because the first week i was lucky with the strong winds at 8 boffor speed. (That wanst also good when i had to faced it!)

Departure from the port of Thessaloniki at 01:30 midnight at 15/8/2012, with boat European.

I did this trip alone, and the boat was a good place to socialize and know thing routs, or other thing about Lesvos island.

The trip was 14 hours with good conditions.

I arrived at three o'clock in the afternoon, it was a hot day! About 39C degrees Celsius!

I did a little walk at the center, stop at locals store to by a map, and eat something, and to pass my time waiting the 5 or 6 o'clock to start my trip.

Because i was late i choose for first destination the monastery of Agios Rafail, because was only 25 kilometers, and the second reason was the free accommodation.

The Monastery is built at a hill at 300 meters and the last 5 kilometers was the most difficult.
